Problem: You need allergy friendly-bread for your bread basket or as a base for stuffing.

Solution: There are plenty of recipes and ways to make allergy-friendly bread. Bread is fun to make with your children, so be sure to get them involved!


Egg- and Dairy-Free Options:

Packaged bread and rolls often include, or have cross contaact with, allergens. Making tasty dinner rolls is simple. But who has the time? Make them ahead and freeze! Warm them in the oven before serving.

Here are 2 options that are sure to become family favorites:

  • Make Dinner Roll dough in a bread machine using the dough cycle or use your favorite safe bread recipe. Divide into 16 pieces and shape into rolls. Let rise and bake.
  • Warm and fluffy Butterhorn Crescent Rolls are better than anything that pops out of a can. And they are super easy to make!

 

Make Ahead

Bake and Freeze: Underbake the rolls a little - remove from the oven before they are browned. Allow to cool on racks. Freeze on parchment lined trays. Transfer to an airtight container or zip top bag. Keep frozen.

To Serve: Bake frozen rolls at 350°F for 10-12 min or until heated through and browned.


Wheat- and Gluten-Free Options:

If you need to avoid wheat and gluten in addition to milk and egg, you can still serve tasty bread on your holiday table.

 

Something a Little Different:

  • Flaky Biscuits are a great alternative to complement your holiday dinner. These can be that can be dairy-, egg- and wheat/gluten-free. Cut out using leaf and acorn cookie cutters to add a fun twist.
  • Make your stuffing without bread! There are other tasty options besides the traditional bread cubes.
