Soloway Hot Dog Factory Inc. recalls Halal Beef Hot Dogs due to undeclared mustard.

 

OTTAWA, November 26, 2012 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Soloway Hot Dog Factory Inc are warning people with allergies to mustard not to consume certain Halal Beef Hot Dogs, described below.The affected product contains mustard which is not declared on the label.

The affected product, Halal Beef Hot Dogs, prepared for Corsetti Meat Packers Ltd, bearing the Ontario approved Plant number 6472, were sold frozen in vacuum packages containing 10 pieces from the CMP Meats retail store located at 2255 St. Clair Avenue West, Toronto, Ontario. All packages where mustard is not declared on the label are affected by this alert.

There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product.

Consumption of this product may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to mustard.

The manufacturer, Soloway Hot Dog Factory Inc., Toronto, ON, is voluntarily recalling the affected product from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
