Kids With Food Allergies (KFA), a division of the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, hosted a free educational webinar on March 31, 2015, featuring Debra Indorato, RDN, from our Medical Advisory Team.

Deb discussed “Nutrition and Food Allergies: A Family Affair.” She talked about:

  • What nutrients are missing from an allergen-restricted diet?
  • What nutrients does the allergic child’s family need?
  • What nutrients do children need?
  • What formula is needed after 1 year?
  • Safe alternatives to milk and other allergens
  • Child-friendly ways to add nutrients

The video and resources are below:

An attendee gave this review as the most valuable part of the webinar:

This webinar encouraged me to look for a nutritionist that specializes in food allergies/pediatrics. My 18 month-old son needs to avoid 9 different foods including milk, wheat, egg, soy and oat, substituting foods while meeting caloric needs is quite challenging. Thanks for all the info and ideas!

We thank Deb for volunteering her time and discussing what parents must consider in order to see that everyone in the home has their nutritional needs met when adjusting to life with food allergies.

We also thank Mylan Specialty for sponsoring this educational program.
