Philadelphia Area Food Allergy Events (Dec 1)

We have some special announcement for events in the Philadelphia area that are coming up this weekend.

 

Comcast Network's Show "It's Your Call with Lynn Doyle" Highlights Serious Nature of Food Allergies  (December 1)

 

Kids With Food Allergies, a division of the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, is pleased to announce that on December 1, Executive Producer Lynn Doyle will host a show about the serious nature of food allergies on the Comcast Network show, "It's Your Call with Lynn Doyle."  Joining Ms. Doyle on the show are Terri Brown-Whitehorn, MD, pediatric allergist and Asst. Professor at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia; Michele Cassalia, Corporate Relations Director for Kids With Food Allergies and parent of a child with food allergies; and Lynda Mitchell, Founder and Senior Director of Kids With Food Allergies.

 

The half-hour long show is viewable in the Philadelphia region at 8:30 p.m. by Comcast cable subscribers (channel 8 or 856) and RLTV channel 175; Verizon FiOs subscribers (channel 99) and RLTV channel 245.  The show is also viewable on other cable systems in the Philadelphia area and throughout the country on RLTV station 175 or 245.  Check your local listings for times. A video of the show will also be available on the KFA website next week.

 

Philadelphia-area Support Groups Offering "Feel Good Forum"  (December 1)

Jean Kintisch (FEAST of the Main Line) & Jenine Lawton (PHACT of Chester County) have organized a special afternoon of short 30-minute "try-it" sessions for different ages (preschool, young elementary, older elementary) at The Center on Central in Paoli, PA.

 

Each activity will be lead by a trained professional.  This special day will be focused on children with food allergies and different ways to:

  •      reduce stress and anxiety
  •      give a sense of more control
  •      improve self-esteem, self-worth,   self-confidence
  •      feel included and less isolated
  •      address bullying

Registration for this event  is open until Saturday, November 30th.
