On Sept. 26, 2019, Kenneth Mendez, CEO and president of the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA), co-hosted a Facebook Live session with blogger Deva Dalporto of MyLifeSuckers. If you didn’t have a chance to tune in live, you can watch a replay of session. Kids With Food Allergies (KFA) is a division of AAFA.

The Facebook Live session focused on new treatments for kids with peanut allergies, the results of newly released research conducted by AAFA on the social and emotional impact on parents of kids with food allergies, and some valuable tips for parents on how to have a safe and fun Halloween.

Kenneth and Deva discussed:

  • Research results revealing the tremendous financial, social and emotional burden facing caregivers who have kids with food allergies
  • How AAFA and KFA shared the perspective of families managing food allergies to further research, especially in regard to new peanut allergy treatments
  • Resources to help families celebrate a safe, allergy-friendly Halloween
  • The support and resources parents can receive when they join the KFA community
