Now is the time to prepare and plan for the next school year! Learn how to make your child's year run smoothly by attending this free webinar. Presenters David Stukus, MD and Michael Pistiner, MD, MMSc are Co-Chairs of KFA's Medical Advisory Team. They are also frequent guest speakers on our webinar series. Dr. Stukus and Dr. Pistiner will answer your questions about going back to school with asthma and/or food allergies. Submit your questions in advance on this registration form. They will help you prepare prior to school starting, and discuss how best to communicate your child’s needs with the school.
Some of the questions they will answer include:

  • What kind of information do I need from my child's doctor for the school?
  • Do I need to provide the school with epinephrine auto-injectors if the school has stock epinephrine?
  • How old does my child need to be to self-carry an epinephrine auto-injector or asthma inhaler at school?
  • Do pediatricians or allergists have a role in a request for a 504 plan?
  • Is a food allergy emergency care plan good enough? Or do I also need to ask for more to keep my child safe at school?
  • What can I do about pets and other allergens in the classroom?
  • If my child hasn’t used their asthma rescue inhaler all summer, do I still need to take one to school?
  • What is the best type of interaction with school personnel prior to the school year starting?

We're very pleased to continue to bring physician experts to you in a free format that is easily accessible. Space is limited, so be sure to register early. Register even if you are unable to attend - we will email you the archive a few days after the event.

This webinar is made possible through a sponsorship by Mylan Specialty. A watch and win giveaway will be provided by Applegate, Enjoy Life Foods, and NoNuttin'.
