Managing a restricted diet for children with food allergies is a family affair. Removing foods can lead to the loss of important nutrients. Parents need to learn how to make sure their child's growth and development is supported by a balanced, nutrient-rich diet. Other members of the family - nursing moms, older children - may have concerns also.

Join dietitian Debra Indorato, RD, LDN, who will discuss essential information you need to know to understand the nutritional implications of allergen-restricted diets. You will also learn how to find safe, nutritious alternatives for foods your child needs to avoid. Questions Mrs. Indorato will answer include:

  • How can I make sure I'm getting the right nutrients into my child's diet?
  • What are good protein sources for breakfast and on-the-go snacks?
  • What to do about growth spurts and hungry teenagers?
  • How to continue breastfeeding on elimination diets without sacrificing the mom's nutrition.
  • Should allergens be removed from the home?
  • What milk alternative should be used after age one for a child with a milk allergy?
  • What should mom and dad eat to make sure they get the nutrients they need while focusing on their child's allergy diet and nutritional needs?

You may also submit your questions in advance on the registration form.

This webinar will be recorded. If you cannot attend the live event, a link to the recording will be emailed to you a few days after the event.
