If you have a child with food allergies, finding resources to help keep your family safe is a top priority. That's why we at AAFA are proud to have co-sponsored a report with the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine that recommends ways to increase our understanding of and approaches to food allergies so that we can keep children safe.
This exciting report, “Finding a Path to Safety in Food Allergy: Assessment of the Global Burden, Causes, Prevention, Management, and Public Policy,” will be released during a public webinar on Wednesday, November 30th. It will highlight the prevalence of food allergies in America, as well as suggestions on how to create a safer environment for children with food allergies both at home and away.
Food allergies are a growing food safety and public health concern. To provide resources and support to the millions of families managing food allergies, our Kids With Food Allergies (KFA) community began over 10 years ago. It fosters a safe, private place for parents to discuss day-to-day coping tips, and find support needed to keep children safe and healthy in light of this little-understood condition. To help families with food allergies, KFA offers school planning tips, Safe Eats® recipes, advice on nutrition and label reading, videos on health topics, and more.
