McDonald’s USA announced a change that affects families with milk allergy.

The fast food chain will start offering Buttermilk Crispy Chicken on August 10, 2015.

The chicken has real buttermilk. It will cook in the same fryer as other fried chicken menu items. Those other items include Chicken McNuggets.

The change will happen nationwide. Some restaurants may have already made this change.

Cooking foods with the same equipment may cause cross-contact of allergens. Even a tiny amount of an allergen may cause a reaction. Learn how to prevent cross-contact in your own kitchen.
