While Elijah's Law passed the New York Assembly and Senate on June 17, 2019, another important allergy bill passed as well – Gio's Law.

Gio's Law, S3247B, would authorize certain New York emergency service providers to be trained to treat anaphylaxis, a serious allergic reaction, and carry epinephrine in their vehicles.

Gio's Law is named after Giovanni Cipriano. Giovanni passed away unexpectedly at age 14 after an allergic reaction. Since then, his mom, Georgina Cornago Cipriano has been advocating for Gio's Law.

Now Gio's Law, as well as Elijah's Law, is waiting for the signature of Governor Andrew Cuomo. Both laws are important steps toward protecting both adults and children with serious allergic reactions through training and better availability of epinephrine.
