FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - December 13, 2013 - Blooming Import Inc at 45 Bowne Street, Brooklyn, NY 11231 is recalling Farmer Brand Dried Lily Flowers because they contain undeclared sulfites. People who have severe sensitivity to sulfites run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume this product.

 

The recalled Farmer Brand Dried Lily Flowers comes in 8oz clear plastic bags with the following UPC Code 734765040895. The product was sold nationwide. Product of China.

 

The recall was initiated after a routine sampling by NYS Department of Agriculature and Markets Food Inspectors and subsequent analysis of the product by Food Laboratory personnel revealed the presence of sulfites in packages of Farmer Brand Dried Lily Flowers which did not declare sulfites on the label. The Consumption of 10 milligrams of sulfites per serving has been reported to elicit severe reactions in some asthmatics.
