Most people were very supportive - had one person say why do I make my kid be known as the boy with food allergies.  She thinks I am making him be singled out and known for his allergies, rather than his personality.  Commented I need to focus on him being just a "normal" kid.  It bothered me, but I can't let one negative comment undo the positive comments!  I feel he needs to be involved with his allergies and awareness - I feel it empowers him.  He wore it proudly, and even people in the stores when we ran some errands starting telling him about grandkids, nieces, and other family members that had food allergies.  So I feel it started conversations.
