    I have tried to make my own sunflower seed butter in my food processor, but even after a looong time in the processor and a fair amount of canola, I still get a "paste" so thick you can slice it! What am I doing wrong? Do I just need a better processor? We haven't retried pumpkin seeds yet - she got hives from it about a year ago when we first tried it. I'll probably wait until pumpkins start showing up in stores so I can get truly uncontaminated seeds. Thanks!

    well im just finding out that my two youngest one s has got a milk and peach allery and one of them also have asthsm too and I don't even have a pen in the house at all wht do I doi also have a food allergy to and we can afford one either and I ask my insurance they don't knw if they cover it

The majority of insurances do cover epinephrine auto-injectors, but it really depends on your insurance policy as to which ones they will cover and how much they will cover.     I tried this bread and my family loved it. My older son who doesn't have any food allergies ate 2 slices with butter and wanted more. My husband didn't think it tasted like gluten free bread at all! Thanks for this recipe. I was using egg replacer before and it didn't have much flavor. I like the extra vitamins that we are getting by using sweet potato too. ��

    Does "smaller" refer to height, weight, or both? I'm wondering how much of the size difference has to do with nutritional deficiencies vs. an overall awareness of our diets. Because we read every label, every time, we notice not only allergen-containing foods, but also artificial colors, flavors, and sweeteners. I've always suspected that my 8 year old son's food allergy to dairy, eggs and nuts had something to do with his small size and this article helped affirm my suspicions. I've often been told by family that I'm a "helicopter mom" when it comes to making sure he eats and eats good.     We often mess up between food allergy and food intolerance. Food allergy usually comes on suddenly. Even a small amount of food can trigger an allergic reaction. Food allergy appens every time you eat that particular foo and can be life-threatening too.     Can somebody be okay eating a food but not be okay touching it? My daughter (5 years old) successfully passed two oral food challenges for hazelnuts, which included eating increasing amounts of hazelnuts and also a spoon full of Nutella (this was given after she had eaten her last dose of hazelnuts). The 1st one happened when he was 6 months old and the 2 times after happened when he was just over 1 year.     I had an anaphalactic reaction after eating one of these bars for breakfast last year. I lost consciousness while on the phone to my mother and was taken to the ER via ambulance after she called a neighbor. However, I'm not sure I agree with this statement "if your child can eat a food without developing any symptoms, then they are unlikely to be allergic to that food." My son has tested negative to pretty much every allergy skin prick and blood test - only positive to hazelnuts one time and walnuts another time, both in skin prick tests.     My daughter is now 13 and has always had belly issues. She had skin and RAST testing done as a toddler with no indications of food allergies. At 11 her belly isues worsened and RAST testing was redone with nujmerous positive results. We did skin testing and she was found to be allergic to milk, egg yolk, and fish. She has what you term a Non-IgE mediated reaction. Oncethe foods were fully eliminated from her diet her belly issues went away, she was no longer bloated and felt much better.

    I think it's important to differentiate between "food allergy" (IgE mediated) and "food sensitivity". Both are immune mediated reactions, but involve different mediators (chemicals). Both are reactions brought on by food and both can make you very sick, although it is the food allergy that is likely to be life threatening. Even the symptoms brought on by each can be similar.
