Trick with the chocolate - I put a handful of safe chocolate chips in a plastic bag with a dab of EB buttery stick, put the bag in a bowl, then microwaved 30 seconds at a time until chocolate was just melted. I used my Pampered Chef batter bowl + 1 round layer that was cut to size. The recipe is White Birthday Cake with a little less than 1 packet of strawberry powdered drink mix added to the batter.
I have been dying to make a doll cake with my batter bowl, I have the big and the small one. BUT I only have a boy! LOL I am going to try to find a friend with a little girl so I can make one. Layered - yes. I inverted the batter bowl cake and placed on the round layer, then cut the round layer to the size of the batter bowl. The doll was taller than I expected. I probably should have added another round pan layer. I cut the hole with a very long knife LOL.I just pushed it in 4 times so it was more of a square cut, but it worked just fine. Elsa came from Target. I ordered it online as our local target and walmart seemed to constantly be out. Have fun baking!
Yes I always use a scale these days. I have a Cuisinart scale I got at Bed, Bath & Beyond with a coupon. Just be sure that it has 1g granularity. I put my mixing bowl on the scale and tare it which zeros out the weight. I weigh out the first flour then tare again to measure the next. I mix up my flour mixes by weight as well and write the per cup weight on the container. The numbers I'm parentheses are the individual weights in grams.
Depending on how compacted or fluffed up your flour/mix is, you will get different amounts for the same volume. So, if you fluff up your flour and measure a cup, it may be very "light". Likewise, if you scoop up a cup, it may compact and be "heavy". I was always getting very inconsistent baking results with gluten free flour until I started measuring by weight. I just put a bowl on the scale and start measuring. Not cups involved.
Hi MRios, Since cocoa butter comes in irregularly-sized solid chunks, weighing is the best way to get the right amount. The recipe will forgive you for slight variations in weight (say, if your kitchen scale isn't super precise) but I'm afraid I don't have a volume measurement for the cocoa butter--and that could change depending on how finely you chop it. If you don't have a kitchen scale, maybe you could borrow one? (And just use a bowl or waxed paper to prevent possible CC from the scale?

I've had traditional egg white/butter Swiss meringue buttercream curdle like that and it's really stressful! I've had it curdle/separate bc it was too cold (whip longer til it comes together) and bc it was too warm (ice water soaked towels wrapped around my mixer bowl). Good to know that aquafaba will come back together if it curdles.
