Congrats to this Red Sox player, whose mom had this to say about him: "My little Red Sox Player! He faces allergies with bravery and determination. Michael would rather miss out on something than cause anyone around him to have to avoid a food they love. He's selfless and caring and our Super allergy Super Star! " Michael is the winner of a prize package from Go Veggie and a KFA t-shirt! Congrats, Michael!

This is so true. When Christian was a few years old he went into an attack at the doctor's office. Yep, I said the doctor's office. She had a chalk and board that the kids could use while waiting for her in the room. I was so relieved when he went to school that they now use the dry erase boards and smart boards. I use to go crazy with my milk allergies when I went to school. No one ever linked the chalk to milk allergies. We have come a long way. Oh, by the way, our doctor no longer has the...
Thanks for providing this information. By the way, the link you've shared appears to be incorrect. I found the guideline listed above in: Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Management of Food Allergy in the United States: Summary of the NIAID-sponsored Expert Panel Report (p. 9, 3.7).
Hi Heddi, thanks for posting the link to the expert panel report. That is the report published in the clinical literature ( Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology ), which is the primary resource on this topic written for the clinician. The link we posted above is the NIH publication that is based on the Expert Panel Report and is written in plain language for patients, families and caregivers. Both are accurate references for the NIH Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Management of Food ...
As a mom of a food-allergic kid, Halloween is very difficult for us. Especially now, as she's getting older and in school with other kids that like and enjoy the candy aspect of Halloween. On Halloween night, we choose to hand out food-related treats. This year, we're handing out glow-in-the-dark Halloween tattoos. This way, we show our daughter that it's okay and perfectly acceptable to get something other than candy during trick-or-treating. Also, we have our daughter help us hand out...
Thankyou for the recipe. My son's 5th birthday is tomorrow. I'm making an allergy free cake and needed the frosting to go with it. Yummy. I tried it and it's delicious. I added in total about a quarter cup of water when made with the cisco which made the frosting much smoother more like the stuff he's used to from a can.. we're celebrating at his school tomorrow, which is of course nut free, he and 1 other child are dairy free (well dairy light) and another is gluten free. Oi. Kids. Gotta...
Product Review: We tried the Aged White Cheddar Puffs and really liked them. They are mild in flavor and not salty. I was worried that the puffs would have the texture of Styrofoam, but they didn't. They melt in your mouth. The entire bag was gone within minutes. If you like nutritional yeast, you'll like these Puffs. Congratulations to Ava ! Ava is six years old. She loves animals, gymnastics, reading, and anything to do with Fairies. She also has a peanut allergy. She's won the pink/purple gift pack from Allermates!
Until I call to find out details this kills it for us! "This product is manufactured on shared equipment also used for dairy, soy, corn and wheat", not their fault that my son is so allergic, but I am really tired of not finding truly safe chips for my severely dairy allergic son!
Our daughter is allergic to milk, eggs, peanuts (we stay away from tree nuts and sesame too) and we found some great chips at Whole Foods that were safe for her. Good luck!
Red Dye 40 (via Nacho flavored Doritos) just tried to kill my teenage daughter a week ago so I will email this to her as a suggested substitute. Thank you!
These Whoopie Pies can be found in select Whole Foods Markets including Florida, Washington D.C., Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Kentucky, Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Washington, Oregon and British Columbia. They are also on their way to Freshmart in Puerto Rico, Organica Panama in Panama, and Turks and Caicos.

I just discovered this brand and their products. We just found out about my son's allergies which include a dairy & soy allergy. I bought him the coconut milk, yogurt and ice cream. I hope he likes it
Wow Rose, thanks for sharing your story. My kids were both highly sensitive to corn and derivatives when they were little. Both outgrew it by middle school, but it was a real challenge to avoid and many just wouldn't believe where corn hid and that the highly processed stuff could possibly be an issue. Thankfully mine were not anaphylactic.
My grandson has EOE and this brings his joy and confidence to another level. A small bit of heaven like this makes a child so happy. Thanx SO Delicious.
