Congratulations to our sixth winner Vera and her mom Amy! Thanks for sharing your story Cynthia! Your strength and ability to search for answers makes you a supermom as well as a great resource to KFA and its constituents !! With respect to food allergies, knowledge is power, but also it can be life saving. Kate must be proud to have you as you are to have her! Awesome .

Kate is SUPER grateful for KFA ... it means that she gets to live a "normal" life without me freaking out all the time. I can't tell you the times that I've raced to the Kids With Food Allergies' online support community to ask a question: "Okay, this happened, so what do I do NOW?" I've never felt alone in this battle since that first post to KFA.

Re: Q&A: What Does Omalizumab Mean for Oral Immunotherapy Treatment for Multiple Food Allergies?

APV ·
It must be clarified that OIT is not a cure. It is changing the disease state. IgE is naturally involved in helminth defense (worm infections). A "low intensity" worm infection is IgE dominated. This is equivalent to food allergy. A "high intensity" worm infection is IgG4 dominated (high IgG4/IgE) ratio. This is equivalent to a person with food allergy who has received OIT. In food allergy, your immune system has been programmed to recognize food items as worms. So continued food allergen...

Re: Q&A: What Does Omalizumab Mean for Oral Immunotherapy Treatment for Multiple Food Allergies?

APV ·
Omalizumab is manufactured using Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells and is therefore contaminated with numerous CHO proteins. It is well documented that patients start developing anti-drug antibodies (ADA) against monoclonal antibody treatments such as omalizumab. This can result in drug ineffectiveness. More worrisome is antibodies created against CHO. It is well known from cancer research that immunization with homologous xenogeneic proteins (injection of animal proteins like CHO, that...

We loooooove Daiya products....however I wish companies would stop putting rice in ingredients. If a child has FPIES they cannot eat this. So many products have rice in it

We have tried the chocolate covered cookie dough that Better Bites makes and it tastes just like cookie dough! It is cookie dough with choc. chips in it and covered with chocolate.Very Yummy! Pricey but a nice treat that is yummy and allergen friendly (check label for ingredients, allergens and if safe you you). I haven't seen the birthday do bites ones yet. They do make a brownie with choc. chips on top and a brownie bite covered with chocolate which are decadently delicious too!

We’ve been purchasing this and other free2be foods since 2018 when the company first hit the market! We love them all. I’ve purchased these several time and since my son is away at college, it’s a perfect treat to put in his care packages and “just because” surprise packages. We love them — even for those of us in our family that are not food allergic!!!

I’ve purchased them directly from the company. I signed up for their emails and sometimes they have 20, 30 or 40 % off on products. Good luck!!

Yes. Stop and Shop in our area is listed as carrying them. It’s more cost effective going through company or even Amazon.

Paula, if there was any dairy in them, they would have to label it. You can always call the manufacturer and talk with them.
