Ottawa, August 8, 2013 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Maple Leaf Foods are warning people with allergies to mustard not to consume the Chicken Pies described below. The affected products contain mustard which is not declared on the labels.
There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products.
Consumption of these products may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to mustard.
The manufacturer, Maple Leaf Foods Inc., Mississauga, ON is voluntarily recalling the affected products from the marketplace. TheCFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
All lot codes / Best Before dates of the following products where mustard is not declared in the list of ingredients are affected by this alert:
