According to the Learning About Peanut Allergy (LEAP) study funded by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), the presence of eczema and egg allergy strongly predict risk for developing peanut allergy.
This information could help identify high-risk infants who could benefit from efforts to prevent peanut allergy. The study will continue and researchers will study if early introduction of peanuts helps prevent the development of peanut allergy.
