When Kids With Food Allergies created the disaster relief committee, made up of volunteers throughout the country, it included some of our food allergy parents and members with asthma who had been through the Colorado wild fires of 2012. They had learned so much from that experience and helped us with our strategies for all disasters. We are saddened to know that they need our help again this year and our hearts go out to them. We are listing below where to send food allergy-friendly foods, gluten-free foods as well as elemental formula. Please join us in getting them much needed specialty foods. The Black Forest fire burning north of Colorado Springs is worse than last year, having destroyed 379 homes. Many people are displaced right now and have had to evacuate.
Here are two locations to send allergy-friendly foods. Any and all types of donations will be accepted, including elemental formula:
ATTN: ALLERGY-FRIENDLY FOODS CARE AND SHARE 2605 PREAMBLE POINT COLORADO SPRINGS, CO 80915 | ATTN: ALLERGY-FRIENDLY FOODS WILLIAM STORMS ALLERGY CLINIC 1625 MEDICAL CENTER POINT COLORADO SPRINGS, CO 80907 |
If possible, mark the box with GREEN marker, green pen, green stickers etc. so it can be easily identified as specialty food.
You can order allergy-friendly foods from Amazon.com or PeanutFreePlanet.com and have them shipped to one of the locations listed above.
If you'd like to read more about the wild fire, please read The Denver Post article here.
Thank you, again for your continued support of our food allergic, asthmatic, and no-foods families.
With thanks,
