Crown brand Bitter Chocolate Coated Raisins recalled due to undeclared milk.
OTTAWA, October 26, 2012 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning people with allergies to milk not to consume Crown brand Bitter Chocolate Coated Raisins, described below. The affected product may contain milk which is not declared on the label.
The affected product, Crown brand Bitter Chocolate Coated Raisins, product of Israel, is sold in 160 g packages, bearing UPC 8 43167 07286 8 and a Use By code of 07/07/13.
This product has been distributed in Quebec and Ontario and may have been distributed in other provinces as well.
There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product.
Consumption of this product may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to milk.
The CFIA is working with the importers to remove the affected product from the marketplace.
