TEN BC LLC Issues Allergy Alert on Undeclared Peanuts in "Tommy’s Superfoods 10 oz. Santa Fe Rice"

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — December 29, 2014 — Austin, TX —TEN BC LLC of Austin, TX is recalling its 10 ounce packages of "Tommy’s Superfoods Santa Fe Rice" because they may contain undeclared peanuts. People who have allergies to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.
The recalled "Tommy’s Superfoods Santa Fe Rice" were distributed nationwide in retail stores.
The product comes in a 10 ounce, white plastic package marked with Best by 11/17/2015. Lot # C091X4K17 on the bottom and is sold in the frozen foods section of the store.
No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem.
The recall was initiated after it was discovered that the peanut-containing product was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of peanuts. Production of the product has been suspended until the FDA and TEN BC LLC are certain that the problem has been corrected.
Consumers who have purchased 10 ounce packages of "Tommy’s Superfoods Santa Fe Rice” marked with Best By 11/17/2015. Lot # C091X4K17 on the bottom are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at info@tommysfoods.com.
