Gatorade recalls Gatorade Recover Whey Protein Bars

Gatorade is voluntarily recalling all three varieties of Gatorade Recover Whey Protein Bars (Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Caramel and Cookies and CrÈme) because the labels for these products do not include a statement alerting consumers that these products were manufactured on equipment that is also used to process peanuts and tree nuts.No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this recall.

People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts or tree nuts may run the risk of a serious allergic reaction if they consume this product. Given the low levels of potential allergens in this product, the risk is low, however the company is conducting a voluntary recall of this product.

There is no health risk associated with handling the packaged product for disposal, but opened product should not be consumed or handled by people with severe peanut or tree nut allergies.

Other Gatorade bars, including Gatorade Energy Bars, are not affected by this recall.

Consumers with an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts or tree nuts who have purchased any Gatorade Recover Whey Protein Bar should return it to the retailer where it was purchased for a full refund.
