I found Zee Zees Cocoa Cherry Soft Baked Snack Bars on amazon which are made in a peanut and tree nut free facility, but not gluten free. They are tasty, cherry is not too strong, and kind of in the zone of a coco loco bar or a clif z bar.

I am heartbroken, Cocoa Loco Bars have been a staple in our house for years. Does anyone have a good recommendation for an alternative? My kids do not like the Nature's Bakery ones. I am desperately searching for a good replacement for my picky little ones.

RULE BREAKER brand found on Amazon , top 9 free , something great that tastes like the cocoa locos!

Thank you for posting this information. I had to go on a diagnostic diet a few years ago and fell in love with the Cocoa Loco chewy bars. They became a personal staple even now that I'm off the diet.

I was enthusiastic to buy these bars even though they were not a necessity.  I loved the brand's mission to supply allergen free options for those who need them.

I'm very sad to hear about this closure and the lack of plans for continuation. I suppose this means things did not go great for them financially.

Welcome to the community, @Quinn!

Have you already searched in the Allergy-Friendly Foods Collection for alternatives? There are a few options there that may work for you!  Here are a few that come to mind -

KFA is working to include more baked good options to provide additional alternatives. Stay on the lookout for new additions and let us know what ends up working for you!

Ms. Celiac - Madegood just came out with a baked breakfast bar that is gluten free and nut free - has been successful with both my celiac husband and tree nut allergic daughter, but I can’t speak to other allergies. I found them at Target. Hope this helps!

I share the disappointment with everyone here, Enjoy Life was a favorite in our family! 😭

@Ms.Celiac you mentioned needing to find a new gluten, nut, and soy free bar. Have you already searched in the Allergy-Friendly Foods Collection? There are a few options there that may work for you! Made Good and Zego are a few that come to mind. KFA is working to add more baked good options after the Enjoy Life announcement to provide some alternatives for those needing them. Stay on the lookout for new additions!

This is very disappointing, I've been eating their baked goods for years now.  I'm not much of a chocolate bar kind of person. I can't think of any other breakfast bar that's not only gluten free but doesn't have nuts or soy. Guess I have to search elsewhere.

Thank you for letting us know.  My son loves the coco loco bars and I have been having trouble finding them, now I know why. I hope I can find some of the products before they go out of stock.

We have received the following update from Enjoy Life Foods regarding the discontinuation:

"Since you closed the Jeffersonville Bakery, where are Enjoy Life Baking Chocolate and Enjoy Life Lentil Chips produced?

The closure of our Jeffersonville Bakery will not affect the production of our Baking Chocolate and Lentil Chips. As always, Enjoy Life products are certified Gluten Free by the GFCO (Gluten Free Certification Organization) and will continue to be produced in dedicated Nut Free facilities.

What are Enjoy Life’s manufacturing standards? Will Enjoy Life products continue to be allergen free? What allergen testing is in place to ensure product safety?

Our consumers' health and safety is our priority. We have a very thorough vetting process of our ingredient suppliers and manufacturing facilities. Strict production policies and procedures ensure that our product is meeting our Brand Promise of being gluten free and free from 14 allergens. In an effort of transparency, we note allergen presence in facilities on product packaging.

Will the plant closure change any formulations or recipes of existing Enjoy Life products?

There have been no changes to formulations of our Baking Chocolate and Lentil Chips. Our Brand Promise will always be to provide delicious foods that are gluten free and free from 14 allergens. Our products will never contain gluten, wheat, peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, casein, soy, egg, sesame, added sulfites, lupin, mustard, fish, shellfish, or crustaceans. Any changes to other ingredients will be noted on product packaging, so we always encourage our consumers to review ingredient lists prior to consuming.

Why did Enjoy Life close its bakery and discontinue my favorite products (cookies, bars, breakfast ovals, etc)?

We understand that our food allergy community has limited options, so delisting our bakery items was certainly a difficult decision that was not taken lightly. However, this will give us the ability to focus on our most loved products and allow us the resources to do so. We will continue producing delicious-tasting chocolate and salty snacks that are allergy friendly and school safe, which has been our mission since 2001. We hope that you will continue to enjoy our products and join us as we look forward to what's to come."
