Humei Trading Inc. Issues Alert on Undeclared Sulfites in "Dried Lily"

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - February 4, 2014 - Humei Trading Inc of 147-34 176th Street 1st Floor, Jamaica NY 11434, is recalling its 340g (12oz) Packages of “Dried Lily” because they contained undeclared sulfites. Consumers who have severe sensitivity to sulfites run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume this product.

The product “Dried Lily” comes in a 340g, (12oz) clear plastic bag and was distributed only in Flushing, New York.

 

The recall was initiated after routine sampling by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors and subsequent analysis by Food Laboratory personnel revealed the presence of sulfites in the 340g package of “Dried Lily” which were not declared on the label. The consumption of 10 milligrams of sulfites per serving has been reported to elicit severe reactions in some asthmatics. Anaphylactic shock could occur in certain sulfite sensitive individuals upon ingesting 10 milligrams or more of sulfites. Analysis of the “Dried Lily” revealed they contained 409.1 ppm per serving.

 

No illnesses or allergic reactions involving this product have been reported to date. Consumers who have purchased the 340g package of “Dried Lily” are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the Humei Trading Inc at 718-995-6818.
