I use this Cake Mix Cake https://www.kidswithfoodallerg...me=Cake%20Mix%20Cake. but use vegetable oil instead of melted shortening. It's really fun to mix and match the flavors of the cake mix, pudding and carbonated beverage. This one was vanilla mix, vanilla pudding and unflavored seltzer. I've used various dark sodas with chocolate mix. One of my favorites was white cake mix, cheesecake pudding, lemon-lime soda and added strawberry jam between the layers for a "strawberry cheesecake cake."
