Love Family Fun for reasonable cake ideas! They use basic frosting and don't rely on fondant and modeling techniques which can be really intimidating.

Yes it is all cake. Baked the barn in a loaf pan and then froze it before crumb coating and assembling. Used Twizzlers to create the barn siding and used cupcakes for the silo that I also froze and used skewers in the middle to keep it intact. I got the idea off Famiy Fun Magazine.
