This is such a great and important idea. Our daughter's preschool asked for allergy information on the original sign up sheet, but when we went in for a sit down conversation there was so much more to cover than was on that questionnaire. I think everyone should have an allergy action plan with their child's school that is as detailed and explanatory as an IEP would be.

We had a great webinar in January about all the different types of plans (504 v IHCP v Emergency Action Plan). There is what to do in the case of a reaction/emergency, and what accommodations will create a safer environment to avoid those emergencies. On July 11, 2018, moms and their children will host the fifth annual Play-In for Climate Action. The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA) will join Moms Clean Air Force on the U.S. Capital Grounds in Washington, D.C., to support action against climate change. The family-friendly event will have kids’ activities, music and speakers. Kids With Food Allergies is a division of AAFA.

Inside the My Life With Food Allergy Report: When Should a Child Receive Epinephrine?

In August 2019, the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA) released their My Life With Food Allergy Parent Survey Report. The report highlights the significant social, emotional and financial impact food allergies can have on parents. Our findings also revealed that many children do not receive epinephrine when they are having a severe allergic reaction for many reasons. We asked Dr. Michael Pistiner, pediatric allergist at MassGeneral, to talk about these findings.
