We made Chef Luca's nut & dairy free pesto for dinner last night - big YUM from our whole family. Our kids are so excited that Chef Luca is making safe recipes "for them".
Sure wish this Chef had a restaurant in Hayward, CA. Fantastic person for doing this. We need more people like this in the restaurant industry who actually get it. Hugs to all.
This looks great. But my son is also allergic to raw fruits so I will boil the apples too. That's for any one else who has raw fruit allergies. This is a great idea for a new breakfast. Thanks so much for sharing it. My son was diagnosed at 8 months old with severe food allergies in 1996. (Wheat,eggs all tree nuts and legumes) It's so much easier now.. He is going off to college next week. Now the colleges serve gluten free foods. I did offer to come along with him to cook for him.. Hehehe,...
Haha!--I'll probably offer the same thing when the time comes for my DS to head off to college. Wishing your DS a great (and safe) first year at college!! That's great to hear that they offer GF foods now--did they sound like they were confident that they could handle the other allergies?
The tree nuts and legumes will be on labels andso would eggs but he now has out grown the egg allergy and that has made cooking easier.... I am hoping it is all well controlled... He is very carful and if something looks or sounds like it could be contaminated he will avoid it... And I am sending him with some power bars he can eat if the meals are not working. And I will be sending care packages too.
