    I used the Wilton mini whoopie pie pan to make the cake circles. I actually used a box mix for the cake - I like Orgran's gf vanilla but sub out the egg with 1/2 c pear sauce or applesauce plus 1/2 tsp baking powder. The orange buttercream is 1 stick of butter/margarine plus 1 pound of powdered sugar, 1 tsp vanilla, and about 4 tbsp of orange juice - adjust the liquid for a soft frosting.     Hi Kim, Just be sure to read every ingredient label of every thing you use. Be aware that some ingredients in your kitchen may be contaminated if you ever double-dipped. The safest thing to do is buy all new ingredients. If you want to make a frosting/icing for this cake, you'll need to use milk and soy free shortening or margarine.     1/4 cup crisco 16 oz bag mini marshmallows 2 tsp pure clear vanilla 2 Tbsp water 2 lbs powdered sugar Measure the powdered sugar and put in bowl of stand mixer with the hook attachment. Grease the hook with crisco. Next, measure 1/4 cup of crisco into a large microwave safe bowl and take a small piece of it to grease the whole bowl. Add in the marshmallows, vanilla and water. Microwave for 60 seconds and then stir. Continue to microwave on 30 second intervals and mixing until it's smooth.

    I used a can of sprite and one box of cake mix. That made 2 round cakes to make the shape of a brain. Then I melted a whole bag of mini marshmallow in the microwave. Kneaded it with confectioners sugar. PAin in the butt!! Turned out like taffy. Colored it and rolled it. Placed the strips all around the cake which I might add was covered in pf ef frosting. Dark corn syrup and red food coloring for gore.
