Re: Food Allergy Test: What Does It Mean?

Jennifer Roberge ·
Thank you for this very detailed explanation. However, I'm not sure I agree with this statement "if your child can eat a food without developing any symptoms, then they are unlikely to be allergic to that food." My son has tested negative to pretty much every allergy skin prick and blood test - only positive to hazelnuts one time and walnuts another time, both in skin prick tests. He suffered from severe eczema, head to toe, and we were looking for answers. There was no particular food that...

Re: New Dairy-Free White Cheddar Puffs and Popcorn from Earth Balance

Melanie Carver ·
Product Review: We tried the Aged White Cheddar Puffs and really liked them. They are mild in flavor and not salty. I was worried that the puffs would have the texture of Styrofoam, but they didn't. They melt in your mouth. The entire bag was gone within minutes. If you like nutritional yeast, you'll like these Puffs. He has allergies to soy, dairy, egg, and wheat. I consider us luckily because he has mostly mild reactions to food. His eczema has improved dramatically after eliminating these items from his diet. He has outdoor and indoor allergies too but again we're lucky with only runny noses and itchy eyes. Daytime non-drowsy medication from his allergist keeps him acting like a "normal" toddler.

I felt weird showing everybody my son's pictures, but it is so important that they understand that this is real. When he has mild reactions, I always point it out to friends and family to help make it real for them.
