We also cannot have rice. This has been a big frustration for us. My son is newly diagnosed with many food allergies, and I am having trouble finding recipes without rice. In this recipe, are there any ingredients that can be used instead of rice? Thank you so much!

You could use puffed millet in place of the rice cereal. I'd replace the rice protein powder w/ some other protein powder or just omit it.

JMC623! Join us on the KFA forums, where you can get lots of good suggestions and support! Our Food and Cooking forum is a great place to ask questions about safe substitutes to make recipes work for you -- the moms on KFA's Food and Cooking forum helped me plan a corn-free, peanut free, soy-free Chinese New Year Banquet, so I'd say they can just about do anything.

These look great. If I don't have protein powder, could I just leave it out or is there a good substitute?

Leslie, I'm not sure ... I'm thinking you could try it without it but you may have to adjust the other ingredients because the protein powder may act like a binder of sorts, and it may be too wet otherwise. I'll send up a flare and see if we can't figure it out.
