lynda, thank you for posting your story as i had not heard it. in the background of my writing i hear my four year old crying bc he is trying to go to sleep while itchy. i feel comforted that you, and so many others, have walked this path before me...and have walked it well. thanks for all you do.
I found that these seemed to always come put sticky, but putting them in a convection oven at 170° for an hour or so (or using a food dehydrator) helped make them crisp! Also, once you have the meringue ready, the quicker you get them all piped, the better they will hold their shape (the second batch seemed a bit flat). Thanks for posting this recipie, I wanted to make meringues that my boyfriend (who has an egg allergy) could eat, and everyone who has tried them has said they are good!
@lisa s - here you go: Apple Crisp 1 Tbsp margarine 7-8 medium baking apples (preferably Granny Smith) 1 cup all-purpose or sweet rice flour 1/2 tsp salt 1 tsp cinnamon 1 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup margarine Peel, core, and thinly slice apples.
