 Both unintentional and intentional exposures to food allergens can be life-threatening.  However, there is no evidence that unintentional or intentional exposures to food allergens alter the natural history of food allergy.

Hi Heddi, thanks for posting the link to the expert panel report. That is the report published in the clinical literature (Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology), which is the primary resource on this topic written for the clinician.
