It’s hard to believe that Kids With Food Allergies is celebrating its 10th anniversary. We opened our doors on February 28, 2005, offering online support, web-based education and recipe help for families.
Through a merger in 2013, KFA is now a division of the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA). Lynda Mitchell, Founder of KFA and now AAFA’s Senior Vice President of Community Services, started KFA a decade ago when she was inspired by her own son's struggle with food allergies. KFA was the result of her passion for sharing high quality health information with families and caregivers about how they can keep their children safe and healthy.
Today, thanks to the support of our donors, members, funders, medical advisors and volunteers, the KFA educational website, online community and webinars now reach more than 1.5 million people per year. The number of users of the KFA community has grown ten-fold during the first ten years, mirroring the rise in food allergy rates. KFA’s educational content is reviewed for accuracy by a dedicated team of medical advisors.
Your donations have helped keep countless children safe and healthy and will continue to make all the difference as we embark on the next 10 years as a division of the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America.
KFA couldn’t do it without you! Thank you.
