Asthma is a disease that disproportionately affects those in poverty, especially children.

The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA) is very focused on raising awareness of how poverty and environmental triggers adversely impacts asthma and puts children living in the inner cities at risk. Jacqui Vok, AAFA's Director of Programs, helped to connect NBC with the family and doctor featured in this Washington, DC story.
