Researchers have found that children with atopic dermatitis (eczema) are at an increased risk for suffering from a mental health condition.  A direct correlation was found between the severity of the disease and the probability of having a  mental health condition.

Chronic sleep loss, unrelenting pruritis (itchiness), and painful cracked skin can affect the quality of life of affected children.

Hugs, Gabriele ... this is really a tough situation. Three possibilities come to mind. Two are a bit more doable, and the other is a long shot, but still a possibility.

Thank you very much for your help!!!

I am the grandmother of two beautiful grandkids with severe case of  Atopic  Dermatitis (Eczema) due to allergies. The children (4 &2 years old) suffer from this disease and their effects every day. They both have food allergies , indoor &outdoor allergies. We can`t do much about the indoor (dust mites) and outdoor (all kinds of tree &grass pollen),but we committed ourselves to do something about the food allergies. We only prepare food that doesn`t trigger an reaction .We have to buy special flour and other foods which are very pricy.

So my question is : Is it possible to get any federal or state  financial support for this kind of disability that my grandkids have to live with?
