Researchers have found that children with atopic dermatitis (eczema) are at an increased risk for suffering from a mental health condition. A direct correlation was found between the severity of the disease and the probability of having a mental health condition.
Chronic sleep loss, unrelenting pruritis (itchiness), and painful cracked skin can affect the quality of life of affected children.
