May is National Asthma and Allergy Awareness Month! To recognize the importance of spreading awareness, the co-chairs of the Congressional Allergy and Asthma Caucus have introduced a bipartisan resolution to officially recognize May as Awareness Month. Thank you to Representatives Carol Shea-Porter (NH-01), Eliot Engel (NY-16), and Bill Cassidy (LA-6) for introducing this resolution!
Asthma and Allergy Awareness Month aims to increase knowledge about the treatment and management of asthma and allergies, and also calls attention to the fact that prevalence of both diseases is increasing among women, children, minorities, and urban demographics. Awareness Month isn't just for those in the United States - today (May 6th) countries around the globe will recognize World Asthma Day.
