I had an anaphalactic reaction after eating one of these bars for breakfast last year.  I lost consciousness while on the phone to my mother and was taken to the ER via ambulance after she called a neighbor.  I assumed it was something else I must have come into contact with (although it was the only thing I had eaten that morning).  I stupidly continued to eat the bars, getting sick every time (although not as bad).  I thought it must have been one of the other ingredients, since it was milk free.  The only reason I kept with the bars was because they were somewhat palatable and were one of the few (supposedly) safe foods I could eat.

I have sooooo many food allergies, I assumed it was something else in the bars that were making me ill.  I never called the FDA because I wouldn't have even known what to say might have been in it.  I feel vindicated (YAY) that I knew I wasn't crazy and there was something in there making me sick.  But also MAD!! As far as I can tell, the problems had been going on for at least a year before we (the public) just found out about it.   Even if they supposedly only had one reaction associated with the product (Which to me isn't something to base your claims on - as you can see, at least two others have reacted), why didn't they have better safety and double checking measures involved to make sure the bars were free of the things the claimed to be free of?  Namely the milk?

I'm sorry, I'm ranting.  I'll stop now.

I'm glad they finally recalled their products.  My son actually had a reaction from one of their bars last year, and I had to give him the epi-pen.  When I spoke with them they assured me there was no milk or traces of milk in their products.  I don't think they are counting my son's reaction in their count of only one reaction reported so far.  It's too bad that they did not act when I told them about our reaction so no subsequent reactions would've happened with anybody else.  It is going to be hard for me to trust their brand again.
