Author, Chef, and Food Allergy Mom Missy Chase Lapine to Host 6th Annual Strides for Safe Kids Mall Walk and Expo
DOYLESTOWN, PA (August 25, 2014) – Kids With Food Allergies (KFA), a division of the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA), the nation’s leading patient organization for allergies and asthma, is proud to announce that Missy Chase Lapine, “The Sneaky Chef”, will be the honorary chair for KFA’s 6th Annual Strides for Safe Kids® Mall Walk and Expo.
The 2014 Strides for Safe Kids will be Sunday, September 7, from 10:00am - 1:00pm in Plymouth Meeting Mall located at 500 W. Germantown Pike, Plymouth Meeting, PA.
As honorary chair, Ms. Chase will host and promote this annual family-friendly fundraising and awareness event in the Philadelphia area. More than a walk, Strides for Safe Kids brings adults and kids together with special guests, entertainers, sponsors, donors and other supporters for an activity-filled day to celebrate families living with food allergies. The event will be capped-off by a 5K walk around the mall to raise funds for KFA’s mission to keep children with food allergies safe and healthy through education, patient support and advocacy.
“As the mother of a child with a severe nut allergy I know how important it is to be able to offer kids safe and healthy foods when living with the challenge of food allergies,” said Ms. Chase. "I'm especially proud to be chair of this event. KFA plays a critical role in supporting and educating families like mine, and this fun event will raise urgently needed funds to help even more people.”
