New research in The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology: In Practice shows spontaneous resolution of peanut allergy decreases after 8 years old.
The research found that 80% of children who outgrew their peanut allergy, did so before age 8. Additionally, having a low initial peanut specific IgE at diagnosis and strictly avoiding all traces of peanuts also was associated with outgrowing the allergy.
