This is such BS. It takes a school nurse 30 minutes to train staff. More is better, but that is all they need to know how to use the auto-injector. On top of that, if they choose to supply with Auvi-Q the auto-injector has audible instructions when you pull the cap to walk anyone through how to use it. They are worried about being on the hook for an unnecessary hospital visit, but is the potential death of a student really worth the risk?

I can't help but wonder what regulations were in place when this happened, and how a mistake of this type was not caught until after the items were sold. Do you think there was more than one way to prevent this from happening, or just an inevitable mistake?
That's a really great question! The issue is that it doesn't declare cashew and pecan separately. The FDA labeling requirements are that the specific nuts must be specified - https://www.kidswithfoodallerg...-protection-act.aspx Edited to add: I do see where it specifies cashews, but maybe they are also present in another item. I don't know.
