Welcome to KFA Aubrianna is adorable? Is dairy the only allergy you manage? Be sure to check out our milk allergy page and stop by our babies, toddlers and preschoolers forum to let us know how things are going.
Thank you Dairy is the only confirmed allergy, however we are under strict orders from her allergist to avoid peanuts until we get her blood work results. She developed hives when she had a taste of peanut butter but didn't react to the skin test, so I am hopeful but nervous at the same time! Thank you so much for the links. I will make sure to check them out.
You are welcome. If the test is negative will you plan for an in-office peanut challenge? Hives are a definite reaction, and although her skin tests were negative I am glad to hear you are strictly avoiding. Also check out the newly diagnosed section, lots of helpful information there.
She is beautiful. Welcome to KFA! Please come over to the Babies, Toddlers and Preschoolers forum to say HELLO and introduce yourself! Feel free to jump into any conversation or start your own. http://community.kidswithfooda....org/topic/welcome-2
Although parents often focus on peanuts as the food allergy they need to worry about most, cow’s milk is the most common food allergy in children under the age of 5. New research being presented at the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI) Annual Scientific Meeting found that over two percent of all U.S. children under the age of 5 have a milk allergy, and 53 percent of food-allergic infants under age 1 have a cow’s milk allergy.
Pre-teens love taking selfies and being silly;p They love having their moms being BFF's too. We get together to take them both for a dairy free frozen yogurt at the local health food store as a treat at least once a month. -photojenn
I would give it a try...or I might even omit it. I made muffins with a similar flour combo the other night and it wasn't until later that I realized I didn't put in the xanthan. But those did have more applesauce which has pectin. What other changes are you making? I think that might be a factor too. I just find gelatin rather gummy.
Ugh on the deleted photo! Hope you guys enjoyed it. I made this several times while testing the recipe...and my boys were annoyed each time when I had to fend them off to get pics before letting them eat it!
Our organization has grown so much, but we always celebrate KFA’s humble beginning. We remember how it began with a vision and a dedicated group of volunteers.
So, how does KFA celebrate its birthday today? Nowadays we have many more allergy-friendly food choices.
