Re: Lynda and friend

CJCMomOf3 ·
Thank you Lynda for helping organize this wonderful event. My daughter, Kathryn, (11 years old) felt very much "included" in this event with being around so many other children and adults (Kyle Dine) who are just like her, living in a world full of harmful, everyday dangers surrounding food. Hard to believe that 30 years ago, no one was aware of food allergies, and today, her school gets more and more new students who suffer from some sort of food allergy. Keep up the great work and we'll...

Celebrating Teal Pumpkins Across the U.S.

Kids With Food Allergies ·
In 2012, when a five-year-old boy with food allergies took a pumpkin and painted it teal, he had no clue he was starting a Halloween trend. Not only did he paint a teal pumpkin, he put out some non-food treats too. His mom, Becky Basalone, a leader of FACET (Food Allergy Community of East Tennessee), thought this was a great idea. This way, children with food allergies would have something for their treat bag. Other support groups loved the idea, since teal is the color of food allergy...
