I actually made this the day you posted it. We made a single 8" pan. It was loved by everyone. Unfortunately, someone deleted the photo, although no one has yet copped to doing it.
Ugh on the deleted photo! Hope you guys enjoyed it. I made this several times while testing the recipe...and my boys were annoyed each time when I had to fend them off to get pics before letting them eat it!
Could gelatin replace xanthan gum? I'd be making other substitutions and DS has never had a "real "cookie. , so if it was a little off from the original consistency, it's OK.
I would give it a try...or I might even omit it. I made muffins with a similar flour combo the other night and it wasn't until later that I realized I didn't put in the xanthan. But those did have more applesauce which has pectin. What other changes are you making? I think that might be a factor too. I just find gelatin rather gummy.

That's great that the webinar was so useful for you chavy! Remember you can ask any cooking/baking questions on the Food and Cooking forum - http://community.kidswithfooda...rum/food_and_cooking . Or if its a question about a Safe Eats recipe , you can ask directly in the recipes comments.
I enjoyed the July 31st webinar! It was very informative. I do disagree with one point. He stated that a small study showed that only a rash occurred with peanut butter spread on an allergic child's skin. My child has had hives and swelling with just skin contact....Many times. For example; After a kiss on the cheek by someone who just ate a PBJ, my child had a face full of hives and swollen lips. After sitting next to a child eating peanuts, she had hives all over her body, and a runny...
Hello and thank you for attending our webinar and for your comments. We have another school-focused webinar tomorrow - this time a panel discussion with two allergists and 4 school nurses. I will forward your question to them for a response.
I have a quick question. If I submit a recipe, KWFA then owns it? If KWFA reprints the recipe or uses it, would I be mentioned as the original creator or do I loose all rights to it once I submit? Thanks!
Thank you! I am so happy to share this one with everyone and I have to admit - this birthday cake and set up was my favorite project I have done. My kids loved the nearly 6 foot barn and farm animals I made so much that we used it as a wall decoration in their play room afterwards!

Hi Sandy! I encourage you to post on the Support Forums here at KFA. There are a lot of parents here with similar feelings. On April 30, 2013, Kids With Food Allergies Foundation (KFA) hosted a free webinar in partnership with the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA) with guest speakers Charlotte Collins, JD, and Michael Pistiner, MD, MMSc. We thank them for their expertise and for sharing valuable information with our community on the topic of school and state policies for stocking epinephrine in schools for allergic emergencies. Terrific webinar though I wish the small study of 30 children who showed no reaction to peanut butter being a foot from their faces would not have been included. My child has twice suffered angioedema after being in the same room as an open jar of peanut butter for only moments so this information works counter to my efforts in accommodating my child in school. Otherwise a helpful presentation...thank you!
This was a great article! Very clear and concise descriptions and great presentation format! This emphasis on the different types I've never seen stressed before. It would be very helpful to further understanding by also knowing what is the percentage of IgE mediated vs. non-IgE mediated food allergies. I hope that additional information can be posted in a comment or follow-up blog entry. Thank you!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I used this handout at a meeting with my son's teacher this morning after a near miss due to confusion about IgE vs. non-IgE allergies. This put things simply for her, and now I feel confident that she understands and can keep my son safe at school.

This webinar will include review of the report so you can learn: · Does your state have laws in place that give students rights to self-carry their asthma inhalers and epinephrine auto-injectors? · Does your state have a law in place requiring reporting of reactions, asthma attacks and medication administrations? · Does your state have a law in place for use of undesignated “stock” epinephrine for allergy emergencies? · Does your state require schools to have emergency protocols in place for...
We had a great webinar in January about all the different types of plans (504 v IHCP v Emergency Action Plan). There is what to do in the case of a reaction/emergency, and what accommodations will create a safer environment to avoid those emergencies. It has a wealth of resources also. http://community.kidswithfooda...-video-and-resources
This is awesome.... One area I see a market for you is seeds.... They are a great alternative to nuts, but it is very difficult to find them not processed the same facility as peanuts and treenuts. So far all we can find reliably is sunflower seeds.
Reminder: our webinar on 504 plans and IHCPs is tomorrow (Tuesday)! RSVP: Reserve your seat by registering WHEN: January 14, 2014 TIME: 7:00 pm Eastern time WHERE: Your computer, iOS or Android device

Hi @Doingmorewithlessmom , My apologies for the slow reply to your question! When you submit the recipe, it publishes on our KFA website along with the name you entered. For recipes that get added to the recipe cookbook, we will add the recipe creator's name (however people choose to be identified) and a short bio from the creator. The copyright becomes KFA's so that we can publish and promote the recipe(s). If you have a recipe you'd like to donate, just be sure that what you submit to KFA...
