@FineSilver.99 - The first Teal Pumpkin was done in 2012. This is the story of how the Teal Pumpkin movement started . Teal was chosen because it is the color of food allergy awareness.

Thank-you Kathy P. for your reply on why Teal color pumpkins. But, still, why the color Teal? It is a very pretty color. I thought perhaps it might have been chosen because one can turn blue when passing out.

Re: Show Us Your #FacesOfFoodAllergies to Raise Food Allergy Awareness

Kathy P ·
Congratulations to our third winner Krissy and her son Christian ! Christian asked his teacher to wear a teal ribbon this week for Food Allergy Awareness. She has worn it everyday and it makes him feel so special. Christian wanted to make her feel special too, so he got her a gift and wrote her a card. He even wanted the gift wrapped with teal ribbon. "Mrs. Newman, Thank you for supporting me. Having a food allergy is scary, but you make it better" - Christian

This is great. I get a few hundred kids every Halloween, my neighborhood is a madhouse! I will definitely be participating in Teal-O-Ween this year. Thanks for these ideas for non-food items to handout and accompanying resources so more kids can feel included in Trick or Treating.

Re: Raise Awareness to Promote an Allergy-Friendly TEALOWEEN

We officially moved into the country but our home town has a spooktacular festival the week before Halloween. I would really like to bring this tradition to my community. I think I am going to put a letter to the community in our local paper about the teal pumpkin project and then see if I can get donations for local businesses to do teal pumpkins during the festival so that people will also see it there and raise some awareness before Halloween. I am pretty late in doing this. hopefully it...
