My son was diagnosed with life threatening food allergies as an infant. He could not tolerate any over the counter infant formulas. I had to go through several pediatricians to get to the right help. This was 14 years ago, when there was much less understanding of food allergies and little support. I received a prescription for Neocate Formula, which had to be purchased through a pharmacy but insurance did not cover it. Paying the full cost of this product was unbelievable. Looking back, I...
This movie traumatized my daughter and she wouldn’t eat for a week. We had to call a therapist. I contacted Sony immediately and got not even a reply. Very interested if you will.
It’s day by day. If we go anywhere outside of the house she needs to discuss her plan to eat as she’s afraid of the epi pen now. I told Sony shame on them. There was no need to have that in the movie. Let alone the rabbits trying to kill the lead by his food allergy.
Awww ... I hate that she doesn't feel safe right now. Please feel free to start a new topic about this on our main support community so that you can get support and encouragement from parents who have been in similar situations.
Thank you for all you do for families coping with food allergies! I started a support group called Parents of Asthmatic/ Allergic Children in 1981. Gulp. My "child" is now in his late 30's, but we continue to be exceptionally food allergy-aware. I am appalled at the current movie controversy and am shocked that no one anticipated the resulting (and well-deserved) furor. So Sony has issued their apology. Now they need to fully demonstrate their remorse and fund an educational resource about...

Congratulations to our third winner Krissy and her son Christian ! Christian asked his teacher to wear a teal ribbon this week for Food Allergy Awareness. She has worn it everyday and it makes him feel so special. Christian wanted to make her feel special too, so he got her a gift and wrote her a card. He even wanted the gift wrapped with teal ribbon. This is Hanna at the state championship." - Jennifer L We applaud Hannah and her courage to not allow...
Congratulations to our final winner Melissa G! We were moved by her story and how she uses dance as an outlet when being bullied at school. Kudos to Melissa for her perseverance and for finding a supportive partner. In honor of Food Allergies Awareness week, I wanted to post this to show how I overcome food allergies everyday. Dance was an outlet for me, no matter how many people made fun of me at school or parties for not being able to eat the food. I always feared that I would never find a...
