HI, My son, who has a peanut allergy, will start kindergarten in a few weeks. At his school peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are served everyday in the cafeteria. The school offers 3 choices to each child and PB&J is one of the choices. I am so worried and scared about sending him to school. I have spoken with the nutrition department for the school district and the only thing she said the school could do is have my son sit at a table all by himself. That does not solve the problem...
The title is misleading. It's not just almond milk. Any milk would do the same thing. Cow's milk contains 4 - 6% of an adults Vitamin C needs (some labels even say 0%). That means an 8 oz glass only has 5.4 mg. For a baby under 6 months they would need to drink 7.5 bottles of milk to get the Vit C needed. For a baby over 6 months it would be 9.3 bottles a day. Of course, they would be getting food as well. Point being made is that formula has the vitamins supplemented. If not using breast...

Carrageenan is being removed from many non-dairy milks now because of consumer demand. So Delicious has removed it from many of their products and I believe will be removing it from all products eventually. Here is more information about carrageenan: http://www.cornucopia.org/wp-c...rageenan-Report1.pdf
Carrageenan is allowed in infant formulas in the US, one of the most closely scrutinized & regulated substances for sale. "Nutrition blogs" give me the heebie-jeebies b/c they don't have to back anything they say up - they just make their site look pretty, say what they want & rumors spread like wildfire. Very few people go digging for peer-reviewed journal articles to back up what they've read. The citations I've seen about carrageenan studies have all been done on animals. That's...
Tracy Tree & Sid Mallick, that is terrible. I hope your little ones are okay. I hope that *you* both are doing okay. I hate dairy allergies with a passion - dairy is everywhere, and cross-contaminates SO easily. I think that sounds pretty arrogant, Tracy, for them to "guarantee" that your child's reactions could not have been from their EB product. To me, they said that if there was a chance of x-contam, they would put a "may contain" on the package (which made me laugh, b/c exactly...
