Thank you for creating a world for us parents that have kids with food allergies. I know far too much about NICU stays hospital visits, surgeries, and weekly to monthly doctor visits. I'm very fortunate to be a member. My sons intestines only work 25% but I have doctors that never gave up on him and to that I'm thankful especially because through all this my son soon to be 3yrs. Continues to fight for his life he is a champ and has a smile even when we're at our worst. Thank you for giving...
The book was donated to us by our Allergist/medical director. They weren't put into print for sale - just offered through the Dr. offices as a promotional thing. I'd love to have them all the time for use! I may look into Amazon myself to find them and buy them for when we have contests/etc for our group to give away....used or not! Or start a trading library within our group. My son and I have decided that he should do a cooking channel on Youtube for kids with food allergies -something...
We live about 40 minutes away from Standford and are so excited for this wonderful gift for not only the Bay Area but the world. Mr. Parker is an Angel on earth. Finally a person who has money and actually doing something meaningful with it besides just buying another fancy car or house. God Bless you Mr. Parker. My children and I are going to send a letter of thanks to him and encourage the rest of our allergy family to do the same. If I can't find an address for him then I will send it...
I'd like to know more about this study. The majority of cultures around the world do not consume cow milk in any significant quantity and they do not make the news for having osteoporesis in young women. I would like to know what kind of supplementing was done for calcium because it is not as effective if not taken with other supplements like vitamin D. I think this study may not be the final word on this subject.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us, Steven & Jody! You will remain in my prayers. 🙏🏼 I can’t even begin to imagine..... With tears in my eyes from your story above, I think of our youngrst son who has both food allergies & asthma. Stay strong! And please continue to spread your experience with the world, so we can educate more people on the dangers of asthma & food allergies! Much love to you both ❤️

Constance, I never realized how much American culture centers socialization on food until I had a child with severe peanut and tree nut allergies. We have fought long and hard to rethink food as nourishment, not entertainment, and our daughter has grown to see food in this way. When we visit others, we choose not to eat, to arrive after people eat (or to leave before food is served), or to bring our daughter her own food. When we entertain and decide to include food, we provide all food and...
Hi @AmyHue , thanks for your comment and sharing what you found out! Just a quick note that Kids With Food Allergies ( www.kidswithfoodallergies.org ) is a division of the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America ( www.aafa.org ). AAFA was founded in 1953 - the first patient advocacy organization in the world dedicated to serving people with allergies and asthma. FARE is a different/separate non-profit organization. I'm sharing this to clarify for our members/readers/supporters. KFA relies...
I'm definitely looking forward to hearing more about what's new in the food allergy world for kids. It can be hard to keep up with all of the information out there so hearing from an expert on the latest research is a can't miss opportunity.
@the world This is not an allergen free list, you'll want to re-read the title because it's "Top-8 Allergen Free" which specifically refers to the FDA's list of Top 8 Allergenic foods as identified by law (Milk, Eggs, Fish, Crustacean shellfish, Tree nuts, Peanuts, Wheat, Soybeans.) KFA definitely knows there's no such thing as an allergen free candy, you misread the post. And FWIW, I've offered non food treats (toys) and candy every year at Halloween for the last 4 years. No eggs...
