When you drain the potatoes, put a bowl or something in the sink and drain the potatoes over that. You won't need all of the cooking water. Just usually a cup or so. I use a glass mug. On Nov 13, 2017 4:06 AM, "Kids With Food Allergies" < support@aafa.org > wrote:
Trick with the chocolate - I put a handful of safe chocolate chips in a plastic bag with a dab of EB buttery stick, put the bag in a bowl, then microwaved 30 seconds at a time until chocolate was just melted. Then I cut the very teeniest amount of one corner of the bag off to create a "piping bag" & was able to pipe on melted chocolate for hair, and also to fill in the edges of the Oreos so none of the white center was showing.

The tree nuts and legumes will be on labels andso would eggs but he now has out grown the egg allergy and that has made cooking easier.... I am hoping it is all well controlled... He is very carful and if something looks or sounds like it could be contaminated he will avoid it... And I am sending him with some power bars he can eat if the meals are not working. And I will be sending care packages too.
I used my Pampered Chef batter bowl + 1 round layer that was cut to size. The recipe is White Birthday Cake with a little less than 1 packet of strawberry powdered drink mix added to the batter.
I have been dying to make a doll cake with my batter bowl, I have the big and the small one. BUT I only have a boy! LOL I am going to try to find a friend with a little girl so I can make one. What do you mean by a round cake pan cut to size? Was that for the bottom also how did you cut the hole for the doll oh and one more, where did you get Elsa?
Layered - yes. I inverted the batter bowl cake and placed on the round layer, then cut the round layer to the size of the batter bowl. The doll was taller than I expected. I probably should have added another round pan layer. I cut the hole with a very long knife LOL.I just pushed it in 4 times so it was more of a square cut, but it worked just fine. Elsa came from Target. I ordered it online as our local target and walmart seemed to constantly be out. Have fun baking!
Yes I always use a scale these days. I have a Cuisinart scale I got at Bed, Bath & Beyond with a coupon. Just be sure that it has 1g granularity. I put my mixing bowl on the scale and tare it which zeros out the weight. I weigh out the first flour then tare again to measure the next. I mix up my flour mixes by weight as well and write the per cup weight on the container. The numbers I'm parentheses are the individual weights in grams.
Depending on how compacted or fluffed up your flour/mix is, you will get different amounts for the same volume. So, if you fluff up your flour and measure a cup, it may be very "light". Likewise, if you scoop up a cup, it may compact and be "heavy". I was always getting very inconsistent baking results with gluten free flour until I started measuring by weight. I just put a bowl on the scale and start measuring. Not cups involved.
