We do have an awesome school nurse and an amazingly receptive school administration for our allergic students. They have embraced all of requests and worked to understand the reasons we make each one. Today, with a smile in my heart, I am thrilled to say, all the front office, Principal & VP made a point to show me they were not only wearing the allergy action ribons we gave them, but they were all in Teal! Head to toe! Next year they gave agreed to charter our first Food Allergy Action...

Oh, my goodness! That is hands down the cutest teal pumpkin I've ever seen! What food allergies do you manage? There's lots of friendly "faces" over in the Main Support Forum to help you deal with food allergies!
Thanks Jen! We manage anaphylaxis to peanuts and several tree nuts (cashew, pistachios, almonds) and he is allergic to dairy and egg, but can do both of those in baked goods, and hope to at some point move to a pizza challenge. Halloween is really stressful. Teal Pumpkin hasn't quite taken it's hold in Nashville yet, at least not in my neighborhood, so hoping to help raise awareness.
What a cute little Belle! And I love your cool teal pumpkin! What food allergies do you manage? (I'm assuming nuts, from your tag?) Head over to our Main Support Forum to introduce yourself and find other parents who manage food allergies!

DS really loves the irony of wearing eggy clothes - egg socks and egg pullover. The bacon and egg boxers didn't work over his shorts, so they got scrapped. He added the tattoo sleeves and called himself "hard boiled" This was at our church Halloween event. We offered plastic teal pumpkins to tables that were offering non-food treats. We had glow sticks and toys at our station.
I got a phone call today from library to let me know they are putting up posters around town, handing out flyers sent out a special email for the teal pumpkin decorating event on Saturday and they submitted food allergy Awareness as part of the give back program where every month one of the network libraries will hold a allergy Awareness event so all over our area. They will have speakers, educate about dangers in food allergies. Put on allergy safe lunches and events. Create fundraisers for...

Hi Kathy, This is our second year doing this. We first take preorders from our neighbors, family and friends. We gather our pumpkins from local pumpkin patch, and then we make it a fun family teal pumpkin painting party! We charge $25 for a pumpkin, a sign that we print from the FARE site and a Baggie of non-candy treats. Our proceeds all go back to FARE and our local Allergy Association. This is a great way to bring family together and educate our community!
